The Lady Pendragon

In a kingdom of misty mountains and ancient oak forests, Lady Pendragon ruled with courage. But even the bravest of hearts could grow weary, and in times of darkness, when doubts clouded her vision, she sought the counsel of an ancient dragon named Elthryr. Hidden deep in a cavern where the earth breathed warmth and the walls shimmered with stories of old, Elthryr lay coiled, his golden eyes reflecting the wisdom of centuries.

Lady Pendragon often came to him in moments of despair, when her kingdom seemed on the edge of ruin or her heart grew heavy with the weight of responsibility. She would kneel beside him, laying her sword down as a sign of trust, and he would listen—his presence a comfort in itself.

One cold winter's night, as shadows loomed over the horizon, she sought him again. "Elthryr," she whispered, "I fear the darkness grows too strong, and I no longer know how to lead."

The dragon’s deep voice rumbled, shaking the ground beneath her feet. "Even in the deepest shadow, there is light," he said. "The stars guide not because they banish darkness, but because they endure within it. So too must you, my friend."

His words filled her with renewed strength. Lady Pendragon left the cave, not with answers, but with the confidence that her heart, like the dragon's wisdom, could outlast the night.

And so, whenever her courage faltered, she knew where to turn—not for solutions, but for the reminder that even in the darkest of times, light could be found within.
